Is it safe?

Yes, we offer members the GaBoom Escrow Service and the Secure Swap Service - our two secure and insured postage options to make GaBoom as safe as possible. It is in your discretion whether or not you choose these options to ensure the maximum safety. Unfortunately, if you choose to use the Forum Exchange option, we cannot ensure maximum security.

How do I send the game by recorded delivery?

You can do this by visiting your local post office and asking to post the game by recorded delivery. You will be given a receipt with a reference number on it. Click here to see an example

What if my game doesn't arrive?

If your game does not arrive, there are a number of options...

If you have used the GaBoom Escrow Service and your game has not arrived because;

  • It was lost in the post, you will be compensated up to £41 from the couriers insurance.
  • The other party has not sent the game to you; you will be compensated using their insurance deposit of £18.

If you have used the Secure Swap Service and your game has not arrived because;

  • It was lost in the post, you will be compensated up to £41 from the couriers insurance.
  • The other party did not post their game to GaBoom's P.O Box address, your game will be returned to you and you will be refunded your £4.40 

If you have used Forum Exchange, I'm afraid there is nothing we can do as we do not offer any security with this option.
 

How do I cancel a swap or a buy request?

To cancel a swap or a buy request, simply send the member you have sent the request to a message, using the 'Ask this user a question' button on their profile, saying you no longer want to swap or buy their game.  They'll then know to decline your request.  

 

What if I’ve sent someone a swap request but they haven’t responded and I‘ve been offered another swap request for the same game?

If you have sent someone a swap request and they have not responded to you in good time, please feel free to accept the new swap request.  All you need to do is send the first member that you sent the swap request to a message saying you wish the cancel the swap.  They can then decline the offer.  

 

What should I do if I have sent someone a buy request but they haven’t responded and I have found another member selling the game?

If you have sent a buy request and the member has not responded in good time, please feel free to buy the game from another member.  All you need to do is send the first member that you sent a buy request to a message saying you no longer want to buy the game.  They can then decline your buy offer.  

 

What should I do if I have accepted a swap using the GaBoom Escrow or Secure Swap and I have paid but the other member has not?

If you have accepted a swap using the GaBoom Escrow or Secure Swap and you are awaiting payment from the other member, we recommend giving the other member 3 days to proceed with the payment.  If they do not you can send them a message asking if they still want to swap, if they say no or do not reply within a couple of days, simply email Jess at info@gaboom.co.uk and she will issue you with a refund.  


What if I dispute your decision with my insurance money?

We will only ever transfer money to the other party in an instance where you can't provide proof that you posted the game advertised to them or where you can't provide a Recorded Delivery reference number. We take disputes seriously and never make decisions lightly.  We are always on the other end of an email, so we are always here to chat through this with you and a find a fair conclusion.
 

Will you share my address with anyone?

We will not share your address with anyone.

What do the star ratings mean?

The star ratings describe to other members your performance as a member. The higher your star rating the better you are!

What does the Match Me button do?

When you hit the Match Me button, GaBoom automatically searches our entire site for the members you can be paired with to make a swap. The results will be brought to your screen straight away!

How do you use my insurance deposit?

When using the GaBoom Escrow Service, you will authorise an insurance deposit, which is held until the transaction is complete. If members receive their games, your insurance deposit is returned to you. However, if you do not send your game to the expectant party, your insurance deposit will be given to them by way of compensation.

Do you vouch for the quality of the games?

We do everything in our power to make it as likely as possible that you get exactly what you're looking for. We are yet to have any complaints and we do check the condition of the games that are swapped using our Secure Swap service.  

Why do you hold on to my money for the insurance deposit?

The GaBoom Escrow Service holds on to your insurance deposit to ensure that you are able to compensate the other party if necessary. And visa versa, to ensure the other party is readily able to compensate you if need be.

Am I definitely going to get my insurance deposit back?

If you have definitely delivered the game you advertised then rest assured, your money is safe and you will get your insurance deposit back.

I've changed my mind, I don't want to swap my game anymore...

If you have changed your mind and you have used Forum Exchange, you better let the other person know pronto by sending them a message. If they have already sent their game to you, I'm afraid it is up to you to sort that out.

If you've used the GaBoom Escrow and you have already paid, you need to contact Jess at info@gaboom.co.uk as soon as possible.  If the member you are swapping with has already paid and they have sent their game to you, you're more than likely to be liable for the insurance deposit. But, if you contact the other member and post their game back to them and they let us know, we will refund your deposit.

If you haven't paid for the GaBoom Escrow yet and want to cancel the swap, please email Jess at  info@gaboom.co.uk so she can refund the member you are swapping with (if they have paid).  If they haven't paid, you can simply send them a message letting them know you wish to cancel.  If you have used the Secure Swap but neither members have paid yet, you can cancel the swap by messaging the member you are swapping with and letting them know you wish to cancel.

If both members have paid for the Secure Swap and the member you are swapping with has sent their game to GaBoom's PO Box address, I'm afraid you're more than likely liable for the £4.40 you have paid.  However, this is not definite, you will need to email Jess at info@gaboom.co.uk to let her know you are not sending your game and why and she will get back to you.

I can't find my game in the search results, how do I add a game to your list?

If you cannot find your game in the search results, hit the 'Game not listed' button and this will allow you to add the game.
